http://www.1aauto.com When replacing the hinge bushings on a Chevy or GMC Pickup Truck Tahoe Blazer Yukon or Suburban you may need to remove the hinge stabilizing spring. This video shows you how to get the spring back in place.

Thank you! Worked perfectly. Saved me a lot of time and effort.

Thanks for your help on this, works great. I used four wire ties just to be safe.
the last one snapped after the others were cut ,just like you said.

I didn't have a floor jack ,so I hung my door from a tree limb with heavy straps to replace pins and bushings. I did this by myself.

Be careful handling the razor knife and be careful with red hot wire as well.

Have you tried using a drum brake spring compressor tool? They seem like the perfect tool for that job.

Try Torching the ties with a soldering/sweating tip. It works great and gets all of the ties easily. Thanks!

Could you just hit the wire ties with a torch to melt/release them?

I also use the wire tie method to compress the springs but instead of cutting them, I use a long piece of wire and heat the tip red hot and touch it to the wire ties. It only saves a minute, but anytime I don't have to handle razors is a good time when working on a car! LOL Thanks for your vids, they are great!
