If you can't remove the trim piece that covers the bolts on the mirrors because of the door panel, then they would need to be removed to get at the bolts.

I did this today, I bought all new clips and they kept breaking from the back where it holds onto the door panel. Heck, a lot of them broke when I was clipping them into the door panel.

Video was great for how to remove the door panel.  When I finished, none of my electric works (truck won't start, interior lights won't come on & etc. Any input appreciated.
