The strength of a shipping container is in the four posts, and eight beams that make up the perimeter. This is how you can cut the section of wall out without weakening it.

When drilling through metal, or very hard wood, it is very helpful to drill at a slow speed. It actually cuts the metal away more efficiently, without heating the bit and dulling it.

is spray foam very toxic when it burns , then better insulate with stone wool, in case of fire.

Not sure if anyone has answered your question about costs but here it goes. I live in Ontario Canada and I am about 1hr 40 mins from Toronto (where the shipping yard is located)

20" Standard container - 1,800 - 2,300 non insulated
40" Standard container - 2,500 - 2,900 non insulated
40" High Cube 3,100 non insulated but the hieght is 9'5" instead of 8'5"
Shipping is $450 for 2 20' containers or one 40'
