Making a steel door look like wood

heh heh heh heh I'm using this technique to make my $900 sedan's interior look like an expensive luxury car's interior!

You can use ZAR on just about anything. A wall? May be just to absorbent so the stain would absorb faster than you can grain.

If my steel exterior door is currently painted a dark burgundy color, do I paint it white first?

So I noticed that the stain you had grained on didnt pull when you rubbed on a light stain coat over the grained areas..How long did you let it dry?

I have an existing metal door that is painted white on both sides, and I would like to woodgrain the inside of the door. My question is, will I have to strip the door, or can I do the staining/graining on top of the existing paint (which I am hoping I can do)? Thanks for you time.

why buy both in door and out door when the out door will do the trick for both inside and out ?

I love this! I wanted the outside of my door to remain white to match the house, but on the inside i wanted a wood look. I had looked at Pella doors that had those type of doors and the price was OUTRAGEOUS! Now i can buy a standard steel door from Lowes and do it myself for a fraction of the cost. YAY! I'm so excited!
